Soup Kitchen

Each Sunday night, the Sheil Catholic Center community cooks and serves dinner at the Evanston Soup Kitchen, Hilda’s Place Transitional Shelter. Our dinners provide much needed nutritional and emotional support to 11 individuals each week.

Cooks prepare the meal along with the Cook’s Helpers from 5:30 to 7pm.  The Head Cook plans and shops for the meal; Sheil will reimburse up to $50 for the cost of groceries.

Cook’s Helpers prepare the meal with the Cook from 5:30 to 7pm.  Servers  help serve food at the shelter from 6:30 to 8:00pm.

Individuals, families or groups are welcome to join us at any time. For more information or to sign up, please contact Tim Higgins
or sign up on line.

Hilda’s Place is at the Lake Street Church, at Lake and Chicago Avenues. To make an in-kind donation of food, clothing or toiletries, please contact Hilda’s Place directly at (847) 424-0945, Ext. 20.
