We welcome you and your student to the Sheil Catholic Center!
College is full of new experiences — some exciting, some difficult. Knowing that your student has a supportive faith community can ease both your mind and your student’s transition through college.
Sheil Catholic Center is the Catholic Campus Ministry on both Northwestern University’s Evanston and Chicago Campuses. Our dynamic community includes undergraduates, graduate students and “associates” — alumni, faculty, staff, and other local Catholics who support our mission as a campus ministry center.
Sheil often acts as a “home away from home” for students. We offer a warm, welcoming environment for students, providing them plenty of opportunities to make personal and spiritual connections to God and the larger Catholic community.
We strive to:
- Help clarify values in a time of exploration
- Build a sense of Catholic identity and understanding through education, reflection and discussion
- Form leaders in the world and for the Church through service and empowerment
- Do all of this in the context of faith, through a vibrant spiritual center
