Sister Belinda Monahan, OSB
Sister Belinda first became a part of the Sheil community as a student at Northwestern in 1995. After completing her PhD in Anthropology in 2000, she worked as an archaeologist and remained an associate at Sheil. Sr. Belinda entered the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago in 2007 and took final vows in 2014. She returned to Sheil as a spiritual companion with some Catholic Scholars in 2013 and began to direct Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) in 2015.
In addition to her work at Sheil, Sr. Belinda currently acts as vocation minister for her community and brings her passion for religious life and vocational discernment to Sheil. She is also an MTS student in Monastic Studies and Spirituality at St. John’s School of Theology and Seminary, having completed her certificate in Spiritual Direction in July 2021.
