Prepare for Your Visit

To help you prepare for your visit to the Sheil Catholic Center in Evanston or Chicago:

Transportation & Parking to the Sheil Catholic Center in Evanston
If you are arriving by public transportation, the Noyes Purple Line Station is within walking distance of Sheil Catholic Center. If you are arriving by car on the weekend, all Northwestern University parking is open, unless otherwise noted. There is a lot directly across from Sheil on the east side of Sheridan Road. Street parking is also available. If you are arriving by car on a weekday, please use street parking.

Transportation & Parking to the Sheil Catholic Center in Chicago
If you are arriving by public transportation, you may take the Red Line "El" train to the "Chicago" station or take the 146, 147, or 151 bus to the corner of Michigan and Huron. It is an approximately 10-15 minute walk once you disembark from either the train or bus.  If you are arriving by car, we highly recommend that you locate a nearby parking garage in advance as downtown parking is very difficult to find.

Pandemic Considerations
In accordance with our partners at Northwestern University, the Archdiocese of Chicago, and the City of Evanston, masks are currently optional at Sheil Catholic Center's Evanston and Chicago campuses. The Sheil Catholic Center staff are fully vaccinated. All Mass times have open seating without reservations.

Got COVID?
If you do not feel well, please stay at home. Additionally, if you test positive for COVID after spending time at Sheil, please notify our office immediately at 847.328.4648 so that we may take additional safety measures. Your privacy will be respected. For information about COVID-19, visit the Centers for Disease Control website.

Other Questions
Should you have any questions about visiting the Sheil Catholic Center's Chicago or Evanston campus locations, please contact us via email or by phone at 847.328.4648.

An important note from the Archdiocese of Chicago: While our parish staffs will attempt to take appropriate precautions consistent with the advice of public health authorities, parishioners and guests should understand that they assume the risk of contracting COVID-19 anytime they enter a public space since such precautions do not eliminate the risk of infection.
