Join other Sheil Catholic community members by supporting Evanston neighbors in need, Precious Blood Ministries, and children that our students encounter on the Arizona mission trip each year.

Christmas Mitten Tree

Thank you to everyone who participated in 2022! We look forward to your participation next year!

There are two ways to help with Christmas Mitten Tree:

  • Gifts: You are invited to take part in the Christmas Mitten Tree tradition. A mitten tree will be placed in Sheil's Evanston campus in the Commons on November 21st. You are invited to pick up a mitten tag from the tree that will have a specific need listed on the back. Please return your mitten tag with the purchased item (unwrapped) and give it to Tim Higgins, campus minister, at Sheil Catholic Center's Evanston campus between 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday, or before or after Mass on Sundays. Please bring your item by December 5th.
  • Gift Cards: You may donate physical gift cards in $20 denominations for Christmas care packages. The organizations with which we work have asked that Christmas gift cards be purchased for Target. Please bring any gift cards to Tim Higgins, campus minister, at Sheil Catholic Center's Evanston campus between 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday, or before or after Mass on Sundays. You may also place them in our secure mailbox outside the north side doors. If you are not local or unable to bring them to Sheil, please mail them to Sheil Catholic Center, c/o Tim Higgins, 2110 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL 60201. Please bring gift cards by December 5th.
