Busy Student Retreat | February 2-6, 2025
The Busy Student Retreat enables all students to take a retreat while staying on campus and continuing with your classes and other activities. The format of this retreat accommodates your daily schedule. You commit to spend half an hour of private prayer daily and a half hour meeting with a spiritual companion. The meeting times will be arranged at a mutually convenient time for you and your spiritual companion. The retreat is free to all students on both the Evanston and Chicago campuses! The retreat will take place February 2-6, with orientation happening after Mass on Sunday, February 2, 2024 in the Lower Level at Sheil's Evanston campus. Graduate Students and Young Adults (GYA) Retreat | February 8-9, 2025
Join the annual GYA winter retreat. This year's theme is "Living in the Light." We’ll be reflecting on the presence of God in our lives and how we can practice being more attentive to God's presence in our everyday. Arrive at Sheil on February 8th by 9:30 a.m. and we will return to Sheil on February 9th by 4:00 p.m. Cost is $50 for Northwestern students, $100 for non-students. Scholarships are available. Day of Renewal | February 22, 2025
An annual day of renewal for the entire Sheil community of students and associates. This year's theme is "Living Gospel Peace." Join the Sheil community for a day of growth, prayer, and reflection, as we focus in on Gospel Peace - What is it? How do we receive it? How do we share it? The day will be led by Sr. Laura Toth, a Franciscan of the Eucharist who serves the community in Humboldt Park, Chicago, will present us with various talks to help us explore the questions above. The day begins at 10:00 a.m. and includes lunch. $10 for associates, $5 for students. Scholarships are available. If you have any questions, contact Martina Rica here.
Encounter Retreat | Spring 2025
If you're an undergraduate or graduate student looking for an opportunity to be stretched, strengthened, and empowered in your faith, join us at Encounter. Student-designed and student-led, Encounter is an invitation to dig deeper into your relationship with Jesus. Enjoy a weekend of community, prayer, and reflection, and be renewed in spirit to live out your missionary identity. Take some time away from campus at the beautiful La Salle Manor in Plano, IL. The cost of the retreat is $125. Scholarships are available.
Kairos Undergraduate Retreat | Fall 2025
Undergraduate students are invited to step away from campus and leave their obligations and deadlines behind to tend to the movements of God in their lives. Kairos is an opportunity to rediscover who they are and who God is in their lives. No matter where one is on the spiritual journey, all are welcome! The annual Kairos retreat is student-led and a great opportunity to meet new friends, to spend time in conversation and prayer, and to give yourself the space to breathe and refresh the heart and mind at the beautiful La Salle Manor in Plano, IL.
