Interested in Catholicism?/OCIA
Are you interested in becoming Catholic or deepening your faith with the sacraments? We are excited to walk with you on the journey.
Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, formerly known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, offers the opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith and discuss your spiritual questions. As part of a small group, you will be able to explore the Catholic tradition through scripture, sacraments, Church teaching, and social outreach in the context of the vibrant Catholic faith community of the Sheil Catholic Center at Northwestern University.
OCIA is designed for adults who are not baptized, those who are baptized in another Christian faith, and those who were baptized Catholic but with no further religious training or sacraments such as Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. We look forward to walking with you on your spiritual journey!
For information about the program or if you are interested in being a companion for someone who is becoming Catholic, please contact Sister Belinda Monahan, OSB.
