Rudy Marcozzi
Dr. Rudy Marcozzi has been a Sheil Associate since 2007 and has served the community as a volunteer music minister, co-chair of the Chapel Renovation Committee, and dilettante liturgical furniture maker. An award-winning educator (Dean and Professor Emeritus at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts), Rudy is also an active professional church musician with extensive parish and university experience at local, regional, and diocesan levels. He is a member of The National Association of Pastoral Musicians, The Hymn Society of the United States and Canada, The North American Academy of Liturgy, and the United States Federation of Pueri Cantores where he also serves on the executive board. He was a regular reviews contributor to Pastoral Music, an editor and contributing author for Preparing Your Catholic Wedding (Paulist Press) and has published liturgical compositions and arrangements with World Library Publications, now a division of GIA Music.
In addition to music, Rudy’s other loves include teaching, cooking, and carpentry. He finds that the classroom, the kitchen, and the cabinet shop are spaces where he is especially able to “find God in all things” and experience the Spirit’s creative energy and inspiration.
